Acne & Korean Skincare

In Korean skincare, acne is seen as a sign of an imbalance in the skin barrier. Therefore, the approach focuses on gentle, non-irritating care instead of aggressive treatments.

The focus is on:

  • Double cleansing to completely remove dirt, sebum and sunscreen without drying out the skin.
  • Soothing ingredients such as centella asiatica, green tea and mugwort, which soothe redness and inflammation.
  • Layered hydration (essence, toner, serum) to restore the skin barrier and reduce excess sebum production.
  • Exfoliation with milder acids (such as BHA or PHA) to keep pores clear and prevent new breakouts.
  • Spot treatments with ingredients such as tea tree or madecassoside for targeted treatment.

The goal of K-beauty for acne is not only to combat pimples, but especially to maintain healthy, strong skin that is less prone to inflammation in the long term.
